RIO GRANDE COMMUNITY FARM
Rio Grande Community Farm (RGCF) partnered with the New Mexico State University Extension Service in Albuquerque (NMSU) and the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) Food Security Project will administer a pool of AmeriCorps members to meet the pressing need for agricultural labor on non-profit and educational farms. AmeriCorps Small Farm Cadre members work directly on non-profit and educational farms, assisting farmers in all farming tasks. Duties cover all aspects from the greenhouse, to the field and infrastructure development. Service learning programs are part of the farm operation, as well as summer internships for children and youth.
