Save The Children, United States is a national program.  The local AmeriCorps program is known as Save Corps . Save the Children is a private non-profit international child-assistance organization in operation since 1932.

Save the Children's domestic mission is to mobilize local and national resources, such as community agencies, individual and institutional supporters of children and youth, to create lasting, positive change for children living in low-income communities.

Save the Children has a longstanding history of working in some of the poorest rural regions of the country, and an existing network of over 240 community-based program centers for children, youth and their families.

AmeriCorps members tutor children in reading proficiency and academic success, conduct violence prevention activities, and provide physical and mental health education and prevention activities. Nationally members serve in communities in twelve states.

Locally members serve in 26 rural communities in New Mexico and Arizona.  Currently serving the communities of Crownpoint, Nenahnezad, Iyanbito, and The Chama Valley, New Mexico.
