The mission of Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is to recognize and engage the strengths and potential of youth through team service in schools, the environment and communities of north central New Mexico.  RMYC is a stepping stone to new opportunities.  RMYC AmeriCorps activities fall into three program components: Education Crews, Field Crews and Corpsmember Learning.

In the Education Program, youth in grades K-8 are beneficiaries of mentoring facilitated by RMYC AmeriCorps Members. The target population is students in schools throughout Taos County.

Field Crews complete community service projects in the areas of public safety and environmental restoration, focusing on trail and recreation facility development and wildfire prevention.

All RMYC AmeriCorps Members are involved in their own growth and development, and participate in community service events throughout the year. Service days encourage Members and volunteers to broaden their background in citizenship and community engagement

Currently serving the communities of Taos, Rio Arriba, Coalfax and Mora Counties.
