Bridging the digital divide, the YDI AmeriNet Program utilizes AmeriCorps members to improve literacy through the use of technology. In its first year, the YDI Amerinet program focuses on exposing under served, low-income youth to the technological tools needed in today’s advanced digital environment.

AmeriCorps members serve in five (5) different locations, spanning the Northeast Heights, North Valley, West Side and downtown areas mentoring youth in computer based literacy and technology. Four of the five neighborhood learning centers are located in public housing, ensuring that we will be serving those most in need.

In addition, AmeriCorps members participate in a number of service activities, including feeding those in need with the Roadrunner Food Bank and supporting the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King through multi-cultural celebrations honoring diversity.
