Ben Archer Health Center is working with the Association Of Farmworker Opportunity Programs, S.A.F.E. Program: Serving America's Farmworkers everywhere to provide pesticide safety and other health information to the farmworkers in Luna County, New Mexico. Two AmeriCorps members provide the following:

  • An additional 600 children and farm workers will be educated on pesticide safety on the basic pesticide safety curriculum required by the NM Department of Agriculture.

  • A minimum of 150 children and farm workers will be educated on farm safety and heat stress.

  • An additional 150 children and farm workers will receive English as a Second Language tutoring and translation services providing greater access to necessary information and available services.
