Held every two years, the forum is a unique gathering of leading scholars, theologians and practitioners in the field of disaster response and recovery. Participants and speakers come from the broad interreligious community.

Speakers will include:

  • Ruama Camp, founder and director of GRACE Community Services, the first African-American founded disaster case management and education ministry in the country
  • Valerie Cole, a clinical psychologist and Senior Associate for Disaster Mental Health at the American Red Cross National Headquarters
  • Jamison M. Day, a scholar and practitioner dedicated to improving information sharing and coordination among people and organizations
  • Stan Duncan, a pastor and writer on economic development, human rights, history and religion
  • Kevin Ellers, territorial disaster services coordinator for The Salvation Army in the U.S.A. Central Territory and president of the Institute for Compassionate Care
  • Bruce Epperly, a theologian, pastor, spiritual guide, author, and recognized leader in lay and pastoral faith formation
  • Katherine Epperly, a pastoral counselor, Reiki practitioner and teacher, massage therapist and author
  • Robert E. Fogal, a philanthropy professional, scholar and licensed minister
  • Brandon Gilvin, associate director of Week of Compassion, the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada
  • Victoria Goff, national coordinator of Volunteer and Disaster Response Ministries for American Baptist Home Mission Societies
  • David L. Myers, Director of the Department of Homeland Security's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships
  • Amy Oden, Dean and Professor of History of Christianity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
  • Claire B. Rubin, a social scientist with 33 years of experience as a researcher, practitioner, and academic in the fields of emergency management
