Notice of Funding opportunity for AmeriCorps Programs In New Mexico

RFP 7166 for AmeriCorps Funding closed on December 17th 2009. The Commission received 21 proposals totaling over four million dollars. We anticipate announcing awards on Monday, June 7th, 2010.

The New Mexico Commission for Community Volunteerism (NMCCV) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) are pleased to announce the anticipated availability of approximately $363 million nationally in federal funds to support AmeriCorps programs to start in 2010 for a 12-month program cycle.

Washington, DC — The Corporation for National and Community Service announces the availability of $5.4 million in grants to establish Youth Engagement Zones, as called for by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. The purpose of the new initiative is to encourage collaborative community problem solving that increases students’ academic and civic engagement while improving the odds that they will stay in school and graduate from high school.

New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps Commission - RFP PDF Print E-mail

L23-ycc-logoThe New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps Commission (Commission) requests Applications from local units of government, state agencies, federal agencies, non-profit organizations, (those exempt from federal income tax as described in Section 501(c) of the United States Internal Revenue Code) or federally-recognized Native American tribes to sponsor projects authorized by the New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps Act, NMSA 1978, Sections 9-5B- 1 through 9-5B-11. The Commission has approximately $3.0 million to distribute among all approved projects. Projects shall start no earlier than January 1, 2011.
