AmeriCorps alums are a national network of civic leaders who are actively engaged in shaping their communities. Bound together by a commitment to service, AmeriCorps alums are a transformative power to create a better world for all. The mission of AmeriCorps Alums is to connect, support and mobilize AmeriCorps alums in order to strengthen our communities and our nation.

AmeriCorps Alums represents the 550,000 alumni of AmeriCorps National Service, who together constitute a powerful force for change in this country. AmeriCorps Alums helps alumni continue to “get things done” by connecting alumni, advancing their commitment to service, supporting and advocating for AmeriCorps programs and building the capacity of alumni to be agents of change in their communities.

Because each AmeriCorps alum has different needs and expectations, we organize our efforts around four key areas:

  • Service to Communities: includes opportunities for local volunteer service through chapters
  • Take Action: Get involved in advocacy and issue-based policy on both a local and a national level
  • Support for AmeriCorps: connect with and support your local AmeriCorps program
  • Benefits to Members: includes job assistance, discounts, advice on using the Education Award, and personal and professional networking

In celebration of next week's AmeriCorps Week, AmeriCorps Alums is launching #MadeInAmeriCorps: a campaign to lift up the experiences, leadership and careers that were cultivated during a powerful experience in national service. As part of our AmeriCorps Week programming, we see an opportunity to (re)introduce state service commissions and CNCS state offices to the national alumni network – AmeriCorps Alums – as a partner and resource, with our shared goal of supporting members' "Life After AmeriCorps."
