Some of the many practical benefits AmeriCorps Alums offers that alumni (and current members) can take advantage of now:
We're in the fourth year of our FREE tax return partnership for Alums making under $57,000, and there's still time to take advantage of this resource
We're launching a national partnership this month with an insurance provider to provide car & homeowner/renter insurance discounts exclusively to our community
In January, we started a career development program, including a monthly newsletter featuring resources and highlighting employers that want to hire Alums, and universities that offer programs/scholarships targeting individuals with AmeriCorps skills and experiences
Our job center has frequent openings posted for employers that are specifically interested in prospective employees with the skillset built in AmeriCorps
Our chapter network is growing – with 40 'high performing' chapters across the country, so an Alum has an opportunity to connect with their local chapter, or can consider jump-starting the effort if we're not organized yet in a city
For National AmeriCorps Week, we've got a number of offerings – including hosting "AmeriCorps Alums Online Townhall: Inspirational Pathways of Service and Leadership" – featuring five alumni in five diverse careers on Tuesday, March 13th from 3PM to 4:30PM ET
Paul Schmitz, CEO of Public Allies, is joining our webinar Wednesday, February 22nd at 2PM ET to discuss his new book 'Everyone Leads' and talking about translating the service experience into leadership roles.
